Use this free project progress tracker template in AppFlowy to see how much work is complete, what is in progress, and which tasks are blocked. Two linked databases turn task updates into project-level counts and percentages.

What’s included

  • Project Task Progress: Four sample projects and ten rollups that summarize related tasks.
  • Project Tasks: Fourteen sample tasks with a Status, multi-select Tags, an Owner, and a Project relation.
  • Status summary: Total tasks, In progress and Done counts, their percentages, and the percentage in either status.
  • Tag coverage: Counts and percentages for Blocked tasks and tasks tagged Design or Engineering.
  • Related tasks: The task links behind each project’s totals.

How to use the template

  1. Select Use this template to copy the project tracker and its related task database into your workspace.
  2. Replace the sample projects and tasks with your own work.
  3. Assign each task to a project, add an owner, and choose To do, In progress, or Done.
  4. Add tags such as Blocked, Design, or Engineering.
  5. Review the Status summary and Tag coverage views during project check-ins. Rollups update as task statuses, tags, and relations change.
You can preview the related Project Tasks database before making a copy.

How completion percentages work

For Website launch, 2 of 6 related tasks are Done, so Done % shows 33.3%. Another 2 tasks are In progress. The combined In progress or Done % is 66.7%; it shows work started or finished, not completion alone.
Each task has equal weight. A task tagged both Design and Engineering is counted once when either tag matches. Percentages use all tasks linked to that project as the denominator. A project with no related tasks shows zero counts and blank percentages.

Who it’s for

Use this project status tracker for product launches, client deliverables, onboarding, research, and internal team projects. It suits project managers and team leads who want a clear progress report built from the team’s task list.
Pair it with Deadline Tracker for due dates, Sprint Progress for planned versus completed work, and Project Budget for spending.
